Starchild Loves Science

The Arts Meets Science

On visiting, initially to meet Frankie’s brother David, a Science teacher at the school, Starchild learned there was only one microscope for the children to work with.  David relayed that he couldn’t teach his class properly with only one microscope.

Contact was made with TWAM, a charity that collects and refurbishes unwanted tools, and 40 microscopes were shipped to the school along with prepared slides donated by St Andrews University. Most recently Starchild have installed a digital projector and computer in the science lab.

Starchild has literally transform my teaching lab and the pupil’s ability to learn science.” Wamala P. David – Deputy Head Kubungo Secondary School

Starchild is now working alongside Lab 13 Ignite who have committed to visiting the Starchild school and David’s school  in Uganda with the view to expand the science lab into a lab 13 - a creative hub, marrying arts and science in this exciting project  https://lab13network.wordpress.com/
